Portfolio
- Nick is the sole inventor of the Adaptive Query® utility patent portfolio (qu3ry.net), a cross-domain computer architecture for autonomous systems. Eight United States utility applications and growing, with counterparts filed under the Patent Cooperation Treaty.
- He is building Adaptive Query Intelligence™ (qu3ry.ai) on that architecture, toward synthetic psychology and structural intelligence: machines whose behavior follows from structure rather than scale.
Family Origins Nick is the great-grandson of Fritz Heider, who pioneered attribution theory, balance theory, and the study of social perception, and wrote The Psychology of Interpersonal Relations. He is the grandson of John Heider, a seminal figure in the Human Potential Movement and the author of The Tao of Leadership.
He never met either of them, and inherited no notes, journals, or letters. What came down was the curiosity.
What shaped him was his mother. Elizabeth Clark-Heider earned her master's from Dartmouth; her thesis, Single Parent Perspectives, runs to almost four hundred pages of interviews. Her method was her argument: empathy.
